For Meat-free Monday dabblers, weekend (or full-time) wellness warriors, lacto-ovo vegetarians and the super-foodie flexitarian, these Thermomix vegetarian recipes from the Vegetarian Kitchen cookbook make it easy for everyone to introduce more varied plant-based nutrients to their diet. Even the biggest carnivores and fussiest little eaters in your family will be embracing healthier eating habits and learning to love their legumes, fruits and veggies. They won’t even notice the meat’s missing!

Most Australians don’t meet the recommended intake of five veg and two fruit a day. Even if they’re on a vegetarian diet, chips and toast can often be the convenient go-to. So, when our Thermomix Recipe Developers got together to create the Vegetarian Kitchen cookbook, we set them the task of creating vegetarian recipes that make it easy to experiment with new-to-you ingredients and boost your health with more nutritious variety.

We’re talking easy vegetarian meals you can whip up in 20 minutes on a school night. Quick breakfasts and lazy Sunday brunch ideas. Make-from-scratch pantry basics, like nut paste, almond milk and tahini. Take-to-work lunches. Easy vegetarian dinners for entertaining. Flavour-filled side dishes. And delicious desserts to meet your two-a-day target.

This cookbook is perfect if you’re getting into Meat-free Mondays, or need some inspiration to get started with a flexitarian diet.

And it’s essential if you’ve already converted to eating vegetarian full time and want to boost your intake of those necessary but sometimes not-so-easy-to-include nutrients, such as iron, protein, zinc, vit B12, calcium and omega-3.

Key Features

  • 87 easy vegetarian recipes for lacto-ovo vegetarians and flexitarians
  • Tips and variations for converting recipes for vegan diets
  • Nutrition advice to help you get all the essential vitamins and minerals in your diet
  • Suitable for all Thermomix models

We took inspiration and flavours from cultures near and far to bring more plant-based variety to your plate and make it anything but boring to get your five and two a day. These five are firm favourites with everyone on our Recipe Development team. Even our fussiest kids and carnivores can’t get enough of them.

Mexican stack

A sure-fire way to get your kids eating more veggies! This’ll become a family favourite in no time at all. The one that’ll get the most votes when you ask the kids what they want for dinner this week. It’s delicious, easy and ready in just 45 minutes. View the Mexican stack recipe on Cookidoo.

Fennel, date and nut bread

Venture beyond banana bread! This easy dairy-free and gluten-free loaf is packed with protein, calcium, zinc, vitamin E and essential fatty acids. It’ll become your new morning tea must-have! View the Fennel, date and nut bread recipe on Cookidoo.

Chilli con tempeh

Meat-free Mondays call for dinners that are quick, affordable and delicious. This one can be prepped, cooked and on the table within just 20 minutes! And it’s full of protein, fibre and flavour. View the egg-free and nut-free Chilli con tempeh recipe on Cookidoo.

Not for daily use

I wasn't impressed with the recipes. I just wanted basic recipes but a lot of these have way too many ingredients (10-20) to use as a daily cookbook.
