Make your own truffle oil!
Truffle oil can be a little costly, so here’s a little tip on how to make your own.
- Grab 1 or 2 small black truffles and half a cup of olive oil
- Shave the truffle into thin slices
- Place truffle into olive oil and gently warm over low heat for an hour
- Pour the infused oil with truffles into a sterilised container or jar and store in refrigerator for one week
- Once ready, strain the infused oil
Tip: Take your mid-week meals to the next level by adding a drizzle of truffle oil to your Mushroom Risotto, Mushroom Soup or even Pizza!

The most incredible thing about the Thermomix is that you don’t need to be a professional chef to create jaw-dropping dishes, like the one above. All you need to do is follow the step by step instructions, better yet, you can do it directly on the screen of your Thermomix. The flavour and complexity of this dish is astounding, and the end result, even more so! This recipe has truffle butter, but you already know how to make that! But if you’re an absolute truffle lover and can’t get enough of the flavour, here’s an awesome little tip for the eggs!
Tip:
You can infuse your eggs with truffles and it’s so simple! All you need is a sealed glass container, half a dozen eggs (still in their shell) and 2-3 truffles. Place into the container and refrigerate overnight. The flavour and perfume of the truffles will infuse into the eggs like a magic trick, even through the shell! You can even have truffle flavoured scrambled eggs with any left overs. We know, our minds are blown too!
