Tips and tricks
- Choose ingredients that will add more texture, colour and nutrients to your dishes. Zucchinis, sweet potatoes, potatoes, butternut squash, cucumber, parsnips, carrots, beetroot, apples and pears all work really well.
- For perfect spiralizing results, buy fruits and vegetables that fit in the feeder (minimum 4 cm long, maximum 11cm). Larger ingredients will need trimming to fit the width of the blade. A medium-sized zucchini usually fits perfectly.
- Fruits and vegetables should be firm to the touch, with stones, seeds and core removed. The flesh should be dense and firm, not juicy and soft.
- Best results are achieved by using raw ingredients in the spiralizer. Cooked and frozen ingredients are not suitable.
- To store your prepared spirals in the fridge of freezer for later use, line an airtight glass or plastic container with moistened paper towels and seal. Spiralized vegetables will keep in the fridge for up to 48 hours.
- Cover potato spirals with water and store in the fridge for up to 48 hours.
- When using as a pear or apple spiral cutter, spiralize just before serving and sprinkle them with a splash of lemon juice to avoid oxidation.
- Use up any funny-shaped leftovers as crudites with your favourite dip, or dice and add them to soups, pasta, rice dishes, salads, omelettes, muffins, smoothies or baby purees.

Yes. You can place the Thermomix® Spiralizer and Thermomix® Cutter components in the dishwasher for cleaning. We recommend disassembling and laying all parts separately in the top rack of your dishwasher to avoid deformation resulting from exposure to high temperatures or pressure from items above or nearby. However, we recommend washing the Spiralizer blades by hand for long-lasting sharpness. To protect your hands, always hold the blades by the sides. A quick scrub with a washing up brush and a rinse under running water should be enough to clean the blades after use. Avoid soaking. If a more thorough clean is needed, wash in warm water with mild detergent before rinsing and allow to thoroughly dry on the draining board before storing away.
