Treat Mum to a Thermomix® high tea

High tea, it just feels a bit spesh, doesn’t it? It’s all about finger-licking cakes and divine little sandwiches, presented in a way which makes it feel fancy. So, what better way to treat Mum on Mother’s Day than a Thermomix® High Tea spread with all her faves? Get dressed up, toast a glass of bubbles and enjoy a delicious spread of food to celebrate the wonderful women in your life.

With both savoury and sweet on offer at High Tea, create your High Tea collection in Cookidoo®. You’ll find heaps of inspiration on there and can even add your own twist or family recipes by using the Created Recipes function. To get you started, below you’ll find some High Tea classics, along with our picks for something a little different to add to the table.

Scones to start

Top of the tier are scones, easy and quick to make and so versatile. Using only self-raising flour, sugar, butter, yoghurt and dried fruit, you can make the classic Fruit scone everyone knows and loves in only 30 minutes with Thermomix®. Make miniature ones to give them that extra fancy feel and serve freshly baked from the oven with clotted cream and jam. You can even quickly and easily make your own homemade jam in Thermomix®. Why not try these with more unusual fruit choices to mix things up?

Try Kiwifruit jam or Rhubarb and vanilla strawberry jam.

Something savoury

Finger sandwiches are a staple when it comes to high tea. You can’t go wrong with a Classic egg sandwich, but if you’re looking to avoid soggy sarnies and take the fancy up a notch, try one of these:

Smoked salmon and preserved lemon choux buns or Beef tapenade crostini.

We have to mention the NEW Roast beef and rhubarb chutney pies too, only found in the Less Waste, More Food cookbook which you can buy here. Make these into small bite-size pieces to fit nicely on your High Tea table or mini pies using the Rose gold mini muffin tray from TheMix Shop.

Something sweet

What’s a high tea without a beautiful layered cake? Try our Speedy citrus layered cake, with orange, lemon and a citrus cream cheese icing, it’s all things tart and tang. Totally delicious and super quick to mix up, it’s a win-win.

Have you seen our new release collection on Cookidoo®, Magnolia Kitchen? Baking Queen Bernadette Gee has created so many mouthwatering goodies to satisfy your sweet tooth. It’s hard to pick one favourite, but for a bit of ‘wow’ on your high tea spread, try her Red velvet cakes with vanilla cream cheese icing.
