    We put a lid on it, but we just can’t stop talking about the Thermomix® simmering basket with lid! The design takes your TM6, TM5 and TM31 to a new level of multi-layered cooking. 

    For starters, the lid avoids the risk of overfilling and brings the sous vide method into the mix – keeping your food contained in the Thermomix® simmering basket for the juiciest, most flavourful, nutrient-rich and perfectly tender meat and fish you’ve ever cooked.

    We also love using it to create a second cooking level in the Thermomix® bowl for steamed vegetables, cooking rice and quinoa, filtering fruit and vegetable juices and reducing liquids, or as a sieve or strainer. You can even use the Thermomix® simmering basket with lid in place of the measuring cup when you need to allow more steam to escape from your mixing bowl.

    One of our genuine Thermomix® TM6 or TM5 spare parts, the Thermomix® Simmering Basket with lid is available to purchase as a replacement part, or as an extra simmering basket

    Material information.

    Can someone please advise what material is the basket and lid made from. Is it all plastic ?

    For all accessories that come into contact with food: We make sure that our materials contain no bisphenols, phthalates, or brominated flame retardants. All plastic parts used that come into contact with food are also free of DecaBDE.

    Cheap basket

    Having been a Thermomix user for 15 years, I found the quality of the basket to be thin and cheap feeling. It also is totally unnecessary to have a lid on it. I have taken the lid off. What is the point of it?

    Hi Mary Clare, thanks for your review. The lid is necessary as a safety feature to avoid overfilling the basket and in turn blocking the hole where steam escapes from the lid.     Improvement on the original tm5 device

    The lid is great, and overall usability of the basket is much improved, so although I was sick when I accidentally melted my tm5 basket, it’s worked out well!
