Top tips on travelling with your Thermomix®
Travelling with your Thermomix® doesn't have to be hard and Julie-Ann and Graeme have travelled around Australia on the adventure of a lifetime with their Thermomix® and Coco (their beloved cat).

While taking on Australia in their van, they picked up some top tips to share along the way.
Tip #1 Save on space.
Managing space and weight are major factors to consider for any road trip and from experience, Julie-Ann and Graeme only packed things that had more than one use and your Thermomix® fits that brief perfectly!

Tip #2 Save on power usage.
Your Thermomix® will be one of the least power-hungry appliances on board. And if you ‘free camp’ a 2000w inverter will have you sorted and cooking up a storm. Gas cookers aren’t always great on rainy or windy days, but your Thermomix® is good to go in any weather.
Tip #3 Save time.
We get it, you don’t want to spend your day in the kitchen when the adventure awaits! So, being able to cook quick and easy meals that are full of flavour is the key to enjoying yourself. Load up your Cookidoo® with a ‘camping’ collection and shop before you leave. You can also get the family involved and have them pick a recipe to cook so you get a night off.
For quick and effortless cleanup, pop your TM6 on the Pre-Clean mode!
Tip #4 Make your travel budget go further
The key to making your budget last on longer adventures is to make as much as you can from scratch. Yes, your fridge and pantry space are limited, but you can make smaller quantities to store:
• Make your own mayo and happy hour dips – one of their faves is Caramelised red onion chutney.
• Bake a batch of biscuits to keep 12 fresh in a container and pop another dozen in the freezer.
• Do the same with pizza bases, make more to freeze for later.
• Whip up a quick frittata with whatever’s left in the fridge.
• Use the TM6 ‘boiled egg’ mode, then keep your eggs in the fridge for quick lunches on the road.
• Vacuum seal as much as you can for the freezer – steak with herbs and butter cooked with the sous vide mode is the best!
Plan your menu
No matter where you are or what you’re doing, there’s always that looming thought of ‘what are we going to eat’. So, we’ve put together some of our favourite recipes to try while you’re camping or travelling with your beloved Thermomix®. Remember that all you need is power to cook with Thermomix® and Cookidoo®, just make your you save your chosen recipes to your collections before you go that you can cook them offline when you’re off grid.

Tip: You can also pre-prepare some of these and store in an airtight container or keep fresher for longer with Vac-U-Seal!

Having a delicious and easy to prepare lunch when you’re on the road can help you recharge to enjoy your adventure even more. Preparing salads in advance is also another great way to ensure healthy and convenient meal options while on the road.
