Another broke with normal use

The third blade set this year to fail at the same point, the cog that connects to the TM5 base sheared off. I make a smoothie once a day with frozen mango cubes in some liquid.

The thermomix lady I spoke to on the phone was immediately defensive and said even putting a whole banana in a smoothie without breaking it up could cause the blades to fail and that any frozen fruit should be left on the counter to thaw for 15 minutes before making a smoothie. I said that seems unreasonable considering the pre-purchase demonstration included a sorbet recipe with ice in it & what I’m using it for is comparable. She told me most of the thermomix customers leave frozen fruit out to thaw before making smoothies & she was generally unsympathetic and said I’ll just have to keep buying more blades because I’m misusing the equipment.

I think there is a manufacturing flaw as the blades are not lasting as long as the original did under the same use.

Cog snaps off after normal use

I have gone through 3 of these blades in less than a year from the cog snapping off. I contacted thermomix but received no reply.
