Stifled Steaming

I thought these were a great idea to catch the juices from steaming chicken or fish, so I bought two of them. The description said the steaming wasn't affected - unfortunately this wasn't my experience... The flow of steam seemed to be impeded and things cooked too much on the outside and stayed raw on the inside. If I could return them for a refund, I would.
