There’s a small tray under the knife sharpener shaft that catches all the fine filings and makes it easy to clean. Simply slide out to empty and wipe the tray and top surface of your electric knife sharpener with a dry cloth after every use.
Make sure your knives are clean and dry before sharpening. Place your knife blade into the first groove and slowly glide it back towards you. Repeat in the second groove, then one more time in the first and second grooves before moving to the third and fourth finer sharpening stages. It's all done in under a minute, with a quick 1-2-1-2-3-4-3-4!
