The TM5 mixing bowl lid demonstrates one of the clever ideas built into the Thermomix. Emulsify your sauces like mayonnaise or hollandaise perfectly, using the mixing bowl lid. Simply pour oil or melted butter slowly onto the mixing bowl lid, letting it drip slowly into the mixing bowl around the measuring cup.

The shape of the mixing bowl lid also allows it to be used as a stable base that will facilitate weighing using your Thermomix without pouring directly into your mixing bowl. Position bowls or ingredients on top of the mixing bowl lid to weigh it with your Thermomix.

machine always has an issue with the lid when trying to close

The lid is fine, except that you have to wiggle it and wrestle it to get it into position properly otherwise the machine comes up with an error saying that the lid isn't on properly. It's only a slight irritation, but an irritation nonetheless

Thanks for your feedback Jayne, it might be worth giving our customer service team a call about this one as the lid should generally close easily. Hopefully they can get to the bottom of what is happening, so it doesn't irritate you in the future.
