It’s your most essential Thermomix TM31 replacement part. And once you have the silicone seal sitting snuggly in the lid of the mixing bowl, you’re good to go with your favourite belly-warming winter soup recipes and crowd-pleasing sauces for another two years.
All Thermomix TM31 appliances should now be using the green Silicone Lid Seal as it’s the only sealing ring available for this model. If you’re still using a grey sealing ring, then you should replace it with a green one ASAP.
My main reason for contacting thermo mix was mine stopped had to replace the blades as they were spinning but not chopping it was diagnosed over the phone that I needed to replace the blades, ever so helpful
I’ve tried soaking the seal in hot water multiple times to soften it Anna make it more malleable And persevered using amazing strength to get the lid to close properly but I’ve given up and gone back to my old seal. Not well designed and not up to general thermomix design standards
Hi Yvonne, it does take a bit of getting used to however, it will become slightly looser over time, making it easier to use. We designed the new seal to be sturdier and more reliable which is why it is slightly thicker. I hope that helps!
The extra thickness of the newer seal means it is always difficult to close and lock the lid on the TMX, and it puts extra pressure on the handle. I've had to get the handle repaired once because it came loose.
